After last year's disappointment of losing in the playoff final against AFC Wimbledon, Plymouth Argyle have started this season on fire winning 8 out of 11 games in the league only losing twice along the way.
The league leaders Plymouth went in to this match as major favourites and soon made Yeovil pay with a classy 39th minute goal by Jimmy Spencer which was soon added to by in form forward Jake Jervis who scored with a deflected shot. Against the run of play the visitors made a game of it and scored just before half time whistle making it 2 - 1 going into the break.
Argyle sealed the points in the 71st minute with a goal of the week contender from playmaker Graham Carey before Jake Jervis put the icing on the cake with his second goal of the game and his 4th goal of the season making it 4 - 1.
Unsurprisingly Plymouth dominated the match having 21 shots, 7 corners and 60% possession. Plymouth Argyle now have 25 points from 11 games with a + 9 goal difference and currently sit 5 points clear at the top of the table. After going 10 matches unbeaten. Plymouth will next travel to struggling Stevenage looking for another win.
This was the visitors second defeat in a row after losing previously to Cambridge United and stay put towards the bottom of the league in 21st place after just 3 wins in 11 games and will be looking to turn their season around with a home win over mid table Wycombe Wanderers next weekend.
